BROOKLYN, NY — This Saturday, May 30, candidates running to represent New York State Senate District 25 and New York State Assembly District 56 will face off for a two-part public debate focused on issues shaping Central Brooklyn’s political landscape: from housing affordability and public safety to deed theft, foreclosure pressure, and displacement.

The debate comes ahead of Primary Election Day on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, when voters will decide who advances as the Democratic nominee for these key Brooklyn seats.

Today, the New York Amsterdam News published a feature article examining how deed theft and housing displacement are "defining Brooklyn's Assembly race" for Assembly District 56.

The article highlighted Michael Bailey’s direct experience in housing court defending homeowners against fraud and deed theft cases: long before launching any political campaign.
